Fed up with struggling to get out of your chair? As we get older our joints tend to weaken as do our muscles. It’s only when we begin to struggle that we notice just how much effort it takes. But when the joints begin to go it becomes painfully obvious.
If your chair is on the low side then you’ll notice the difficulties earlier. By simply raising the level you sit at with extra padding you can reduce the strain on your knee joints when you get up. But this is only a temporary remedy.
Luckily there are various types of chair that will help solve your difficulties. One type is a riser chair. The simplest are manually operated with a lever. Just pull and push the lever to raise the chair seat up and down to aid you. Most chairs, however, use electricity to operate them.
If you want some more versatility then you have other options? A riser recliner chair is the most versatile of all. They not only rise but can tilt the seat forward to help you when you get in and out of that chair. And when you’re sitting in it you can raise the footrest and lower the back of the chair so that you can recline into a number of different positions. And it’s all done by pushing buttons on a control pad.
This means that if you become less mobile riser recliner chairs can allow you to sit for long periods without becoming stiff. If you’ve been sitting in one position for a while you can quickly alter it by pressing the button. Press again and recline the chair fully and you can take a comfortable nap without having to get up.
Although quite expensive a riser chair is a long term investment that will make a big difference to everyday life. Just take your time and choose one that will meet your current and future needs.
